Our population of almost 3,000 produces 16,000 tonnes of carbon per year (enough to fill the Royal Albert Hall 96 times)*, 17% higher than the UK average for household carbon footprints.

The Arrowvale Environment Group was formed in April 2007 when a group of like-minded people drawn from the five parishes of the Arrowvale Group (Pembridge, Byton, Shobdon, Lyonshall and Staunton-on-Arrow) met to discuss how they might help the parishes reduce their carbon footprints. Collectively the Arrowvale parishes constitute almost 1,200 households and approaching 3,000 people.

So the group has embarked on a campaign to raise awareness of the issues and to promote measures to help address them. None of us are experts or fanatics, but we are all interested in finding out what can be done, and taking steps to put this into practice. We are also extremely friendly and welcoming!

We are most grateful to Kingspan for their financial support through the Community Trust as we begin to gather momentum.
