We became a constituted body in June 2007 and began by inviting experts from the Telford Energy Efficiency Advice Centre to “carbon footprint” 28 households (i.e. measure the carbon output of the households) and advise the owners on measures to reduce their carbon emissions. This small, but important, sample gave an indication of the carbon output from the parishes as a whole. UK average output per household is 6.5t; the Arrowvale average is 7.6t. Car use is also higher in rural areas and altogether it was estimated that the five parishes contribute 16,000 tonnes of carbon per year – enough to fill the Royal Albert Hall 96 times.

We have a simple, DIY carbon assessment form if you would like to see where you are using most energy and how you could make changes at home to reduce your footprint.  Soon it will be available on line for you to download but until then, you can contact us if you would like a copy.
